The Straight 8s proudly carry the roots rock torch sparked at Sun Records in 1953 and kept aflame by artists such as Brian Setzer, Big Sandy, and JD McPherson. 

Founded in 1999, this trio from the foothills of North Carolina has released three full-length records and appeared on numerous compilations and several soundtracks.   Their latest album “Girl Trouble” was released in July of 2013, with a follow-on 45 in early 2014.

The Straight 8s are honored to be playing a show at the famed Continental Club on South Congress St. in Austin TX.  This venus has been  a hot-spot for swing, rock-a-billy, country and rock since 1957.

We’re happy to say that the waiting is over!

We are thrilled with the way the album turned out and hope you enjoy listening to these songs as much as we enjoyed writing and recording them.   We were fortunate to have some very special musical guests appear on the record, including Sarah Shook and Phil Sullivan from Sarah Shook and the Devil, and Daniel's brother Nicholas Mebane from The Midway Charmers.  Definitely check these bands out when you have a chance!  You can even check out some of their photos from the session by clicking here.

From special engagements at the NC Museum of Art to top-tier music venues and festivals, the Straight 8s have shared the stage with artists such as The Avett Brothers, Junior Brown, Southern Culture on the Skids, and many others.   In January of 2013 The Straight 8s “went Hollywood” appearing as themselves in the Cinemax action-drama series Banshee, where four of their songs were featured in the soundtrack of the pilot episode.
