When Ibanez needed a test-pilot for their latest

6-string hotrod, they knew just the man for the job. Their sleek metallic “Roadster Green” machine was barely out of the paint booth when they asked Robert to put the AFS80T hollow-body guitar through its paces.

The AFS series of guitars has the same shape

and full hollow-body as the legendary AF

series, but is one-inch thinner for comfort and

more mid-range punch.

Standard equipment includes set-in neck,

large frets, Vintage-style vibrato with

roller saddles, body/fretboard/f-hole

bindings and is available in new

go-fast finishes.

The Straight 8s are honored to be playing a show at the famed Continental Club on South Congress St. in Austin TX. This venus has been a hot-spot for swing, rock-a-billy, country and rock since 1957.

Is this really the 14th year for ELVISFEST in Chapel Hill? You bet it is, and Straight 8s are back to rock the house with a fury. Once again, ELVISFEST is being held at University Inn at 1301 North Fordham Blvd (aka 15-501). For accommodations or directions, give ‘em a call at (919) 929-2171 and tell them the King sent ya.

The performance schedule has been in flux lately, but for the most up-to-date version, stay tuned to the ELVISFEST website by clicking on the King’s microphone.

Whole Lotta Shakin’ Goin’ On in 2012!

Straight 8s are stoked to be playing the 13th Annual Freeze Your Balls Off Scooter Rally, to be held on MLK weekend, January 13-15, 2012, in Durham, North Carolina. All two-wheeled vehicles welcome - bring your mopeds, classic scooters, modern scooters, motorcycles etc. for a rally that doesn't stop for cold weather!

THIS JUST IN... STRAIGHT 8s are scheduled to perform on Friday, Jan 6 at 7:30 on the Jungle Room stage. Note that this is contrary to the schedule on the ELVISFEST website (we told you it was in flux!) . If you are only able to attend Saturday, no fear, you can catch Daniel with The Cogburns at 7:30 on the Jungle Room stage (you guessed it... subject to change). We will continue to provide updates here on the STRAIGHT 8s website if there are additional changes for either band. See you soon!
